Customers are offered in-depth training and documentation from Graphic Computer Consultants with additional support assistance from the manufacturer, Strobe Data, Inc. Support is also provided by access to the Strobe Bulletin Board, the internet, e-mail and/or telephone assistance. All products manufactured by Strobe Data carry a one year warranty.

Product Description

       Basic Osprey - Single PC Slot

1.     Osprey 18B (P/N 9475-18B).  Basic Osprey 18 MHz
       Co-Processor card, EISA/ISA bus compatible, occupies one PC
       slot. Co-Processor includes Digital Equipment Corporation's
       18 MHz J11 microprocessor and  4 MBytes of tightly coupled,
       zero wait-state, parity memory. Control logic is achieved
       with a 4,000 gate FPGA (field programmable gate array).
       On-card 486SLC2-40 microprocessor rapidly processes
       "virtual" I/O instructions. This card is used for Osprey/PC
       applications where all applicable I/O devices are emulated
       on the PC by Osprey software.  Includes MS-DOS compatible
       support software.  (This card does not include a socket for
       Digital Equipment Corporation's FPJ11 floating point chip.)
       Order Item 3 to provide the socket.
2.     Osprey 15B (P/N 9475-15B).  Basic Osprey 15 MHz
       Co-Processor card, same as item 1 except the J11 runs at 15
       MHz.

3.     Optional FPJ11 Upgrade Socket (P/N 4002). This option to
       items 1 or 2 provides a certified socket so user may
       install Digital Equipment Corporation's FPJ11 floating
       point chip. Items 1 and 2 are not field upgradeable to this
       option.


       Osprey Qbus Support - Dual PC Slot

4.     Osprey 18Q (P/N 9476-18Q).  Dual card set comprising 18 MHz
       Co-Processor and Qbus Adapter sections, EISA/ISA bus
       compatible, occupies two adjacent PC slots. Co-Processor
       section includes Digital Equipment Corporation's 18 MHz J11
       microprocessor and 4 MBytes of tightly coupled, zero
       wait-state, parity memory.  Control logic is achieved with
       a 13,000 gate FPGA (field programmable gate array). An
       on-card 486SLC2-40 microprocessor rapidly processes
       "virtual" I/O instructions. I/O Adapter section provides
       Programmed I/O and DMA signals for "real" Qbus compatible
       controllers. These two sections form a dual card set, which
       must be ordered and installed together. MS-DOS compatible
       Osprey support software is included. (This card set does
       not include a socket for Digital Equipment Corporation's
       FPJ11 floating point chip.) Order Item 6 to provide the
       socket.
5.     Osprey 15Q (P/N 9476-15Q).  Same as item 4, except it runs
       at 15 MHz.

6.     Optional FPJ11 upgrade socket (P/N 4002). This option to
       items 4 or 5 provides a certified socket so user may
       install Digital Equipment Corporation's FPJ11 floating
       point chip. Items 4 and 5 are not field upgradeable to this
       option.
7.     Qbus Backplane Extender Kit - B/E Q Kit (P/N 9477-Q).
       Ordered for items 4 and 5, this is a data transcription
       tool to be used only during installation to move files from
       the PDP-11 being replaced to the Osprey/PC. Dual-height
       card plugs into PDP-11 Qbus backplane. Two cables 10 ft. (3
       m) in length connect this card to the Osprey I/O Adapter in
       item 4 and 5.

8.     Rack Mount Osprey-Q/PC Chassis - RMOC Q (P/N 9591-Q).
       10.5" high by 19" wide by 20" deep (267 X 483 X 508 cm),
       this FCC certifiable** chassis with 400 Watt power supply,
       quad-height Qbus backplane, cooling fans, and slides has
       space for a standard PC motherboard, diskette and hard
       drives (three visible and one hidden half-height bays), and
       up to four quad-height Qbus compatible cards.

       **FCC certifiable PC components must be used in this
       chassis.

       Osprey Unibus Support - Dual PC Slot

9.     Osprey 18U (P/N 9476-18U). Dual card set comprising an
       18MHz Co-Processor and Unibus Adapter sections, EISA/ISA
       bus compatible, occupies two adjacent PC slots. The

12.    Unibus Backplane Extender Kit - B/E U Kit (P/N 9477-U).
       Ordered for items 9 and 10 as a data transcription tool to
       be used only during installation to move files from the
       PDP-11 being replaced to the Osprey/PC. Dual-height card
       plugs into PDP-11 Unibus backplane. Two cables 10 ft. (3 m)
       in length connect this card to the Osprey I/O Adapter in

13.    Rack Mountable Osprey-U/PC Chassis RMOC U (P/N 9578-U).
       10.5" high by 19" wide by 20" deep (267 X 483 X 508 mm),
       this FCC certifiable** chassis with 400 Watt power supply
       and cooling fans provides space for user's hex-height, 4-
       slot DD-11 Unibus backplane, PC motherboard, diskette and
       hard drives (one hidden and three visible half-height
       bays).

       **FCC certifiable PC components must be used in this
       chassis.

       Serial Communication Hardware

14.    Strobe Mux III Card & Panel (P/N 9565-16). ISA compatible
       card with 16 serial ports. User-configureable for RS-232 or
       RS-422 modes. Eight communication rates from 110 through
       38,400 Baud.
15.    Strobe Mux III Card & Panel (P/N 9565-32). ISA compatible
       card with 32 serial ports. User-configureable for RS-232 or
       RS-422 modes. Eight communication rates from 110 through
       38,400 Baud.

16.    Strobe Mux III Card, Panel & Power Supply (P/N 9565-16CPP).
       ISA compatible card with 16 serial ports.  User-
       configureable for RS-232, 20 mA current loop, or RS-422
       modes.  Eight communication rates from 110 through 38,400
       Baud. 20 mA current loop not reliable above 9,600 Baud.
17.    Strobe Mux III Card, Panel & Power Supply (P/N 9565-32CPP).
       ISA compatible card with 32 serial ports.  User-
       configureable for RS-232, 20 mA current loop, or RS-422

18.    D/I Kit B (P/N 1800-B).  Extra copy of the Osprey Basic
       manual and diskette with Osprey environment software. Also
       includes the following diagnostic programs:

       NT with graphics and mouse-driven front end.
